Occupational exposure to electric and magnetic fields at 110 kV substations
The Environmental Health research group at Tampere University of Technology started a new project on occupational exposure to electric and magnetic fields at 110 kV substations in April 2009. The main aim of the project is to investigate occupational exposure to electric fields at 110 kV substations, and if necessary, also the induced current densities. Exposure to magnetic fields is also investigated in connection with the electric field measurements.
The project will last until the end of 2010. The project is funded by the Finnish Electricity Research Pool, where the following companies are involved: ABB Oy, Finnish Energy Industries ET, Fingrid Oyj, Fortum Electricity Transmission, Helen Sähköverkko Oy, Palveluntuotantoyhtiöt, Prysmian Cables and Systems Oy, Ryhmä 4, Ryhmä Kaupunkiyhtiöt, Ryhmä Merinova, the Finnish Electricity Association Sener and Vattenfall Verkko Oy.
